THE STATE OF PEACE IN HEAVEN
Peace of mind, in us, is the only thing in the world that remotely resembles the peace of heaven. Peace and innocence are the two inmost elements of heaven, and come directly from the Lord. Peace is the source of all the delight received from involvement in good in heaven. Yet because human words are inadequate, it is not possible to clearly describe in our languages what that peace is except to say only that it is vaguely like the restfulness of mind experienced by those here who are content in God.
There are two inmost elements of heaven, innocence and peace. They are called inmost because they come directly from the Lord. Innocence is the source of everything good in heaven; and peace is the source of all the delight of what is good. Both of them belong to love, for what is loved is called "good," and is also felt as pleasant.
Something like this happens with a person who is being regenerated. When the bonding of the good and true takes place within them (which happens especially after temptations), they enter into a state of joy stemming from heavenly peace.
There is a Divine peace in the Lord, arising from the union within Him of the Divine Itself and the Divine-Human. The Divine side of peace in heaven is from the Lord, arising from His bond with heaven's angels, and specifically from the bonding of what is good and what is true in each individual angel.
These being the sources of peace the Lord is called "the Prince of peace", and He states that peace comes from Him and is in Him. Then too, angels are called "angels of peace," and heaven, "the heaven of peace.
